MovieConnect™ 2.0
Sept 16, 2008
The Aura Group has expanded and advanced its text-from-banner advertising technology MovieConnect to become more than just another banner advertisement by personalizing a moviegoers advertising experience. The improved version, dubbed “MovieConnect 2.0” offers enhancements to any online movie banner advertisements by automatically locating a consumer’s current location and displaying the closest theaters and show times right within the ad unit. The advertisement doesn’t end there though. Following the initial load of the ad, a consumer can then choose to send theater and show time information immediately to their mobile device to take on the go. Aura is pleased with this service, and has already seen tremendous positive results for films that partner with MovieConnect.
“MovieConnect offers convenience for anyone, providing relevant information within the banner ad, interfacing directly to the consumer on their phone. It gives a new meaning to ‘brand lift’,” David Bailey, CEO of the Aura Group, said.
This technology can be deployed within any Flash banner ad on any publisher and can also be used with any cell phone service. These developments allow many more consumers to view the initial advertisement and also allow more consumers the ability to receive the text messages. Also, there are no limitations by a consumers’ location as the service is available nation-wide and not limited to specific theaters or ticketing agencies.
The Aura Group has also partnered with 43KIX, an established company involved in print-to-mobile campaigns. This partnership allows for studios to consolidate their online mobile marketing campaigns with their existing off-line efforts. “It made sense for us to partner with Aura,” said Chris Geromini, president of Terry Hines and Associates who owns 43KIX. “We currently handle many aspects of studio mobile marketing and with Aura we can expand our campaigns to include online advertising.”
MovieConnect 2.0 is taking advantage of the expanding mobile advertisement market. Short Message Service, commonly called text messaging, is an up and coming and unique marketing for advertising, with monthly sent messages booming to 48.1 billion in December 2007. Over 363 billion text messages were sent in 2007. Consumers would like only the information they choose to be delivered as quickly and efficiently as possible which is why MovieConnect 2.0 is also committed to privacy and anti-spam. MovieConnect 2.0 and the Aura Group capitalize on the personalization of the moviegoers advertising experience, by allowing consumers to specifically select what they want to be sent to their mobile device.
